The story about meeting the lady in the psychosis: “I didn’t leave her in her own energy.” This resonated so much – it’s happened to me with homeless people. I felt so holier than thou and gave a homeless man half of my fancy deli sandwich in New York and then he looked at it and threw it in the garbage! I was horrified because A), I would have eaten it myself, and B), I should have asked him what he needed. This is like the 7 Habits about making emotional deposits by considering what would be important to the other person, not to you. In this case I would have valued this sandwich (I did order it after all!) and assumed that this man would also want it. Turned out, he didn’t.

“What actions are you taking and why are you taking them?”

“You are nothing and you are everything.”

“We are evolving and we are creating together… never inferior or superior.” This idea that we can sometimes be the Acorn and sometimes be the Oak resonates with me a lot.
